Bid to boost
lobster numbers
Girl age 10 locked in freezer at McDonald's

A lobster hatchery which is hoping to increase the number of creatures around Britain's waters has been opened to the public. The hatchery in Padstow, Cornwall, is hoping to release 80,000 young lobsters a year around the Cornish coast line and eventually other UK waters.

A girl aged 10 was deliberately locked in a deep freezer by staff at a McDonald's restaurant in Istanbul, Turkish prosecutors said yesterday Leyla Alkis was trying to sell packets of tissues to the customers in the restaurant. The staff are said to have locked her in the deep freeze to discourage her.
Tomatoes hold key to health
Scientists are claming that they have discovered a component in tomatoes that could help to cut the number of deaths from heart disease and strokes. According to the group of scientists at the Aberdeen-based  Rowett Research Institute, the substance, which has been code named P3, reduces the formation of harmful blood clots. P3 is found in the yellow juice around tomato seeds and it is said to stop platelet cells in the blood clumping together. Aspirin is a widely used anti-platelet therapy, but using aspirin  can have side effects, such as stomach upsets and bleeding. P3 can also be found in other fruits such as strawberries and melon.
